Alliance History
Low-cost office supplies, expert business and tax advice, plus access to health insurance – these are just a few of the benefits
the Alliance for Affordable Services offers to small-business owners just like you. Since its beginning in
1981, the association has grown and evolved to become the influential organization it is today. Alliance leverages
the strength of numbers to provide a variety of business, lifestyle and health care benefits for its members.
Advocacy
Need a friend on Capitol Hill? The Alliance is your champion and has been since the very beginning when it was created in 1981.
The primary objectives of the Alliance Legislative Advocacy Program are to provide Alliance Members with tools to contact their legislators and voice their opinions. Our members concerns about what is happening in our nation’s capital are our concerns. To ensure the views of Alliance Members are represented in Washington, D.C., the Alliance conducts an annual legislative survey. Alliance Members are encouraged to help us achieve great things simply by getting involved.

Ongoing legislative tracking and analysis of poll results to determine issues vital to Alliance Members on a national level. |

Meeting face-to-face with staff and Members of Congress from key committees of interest. |

Providing a one-on-one setting for Alliance Members to discuss important topics with their legislative officials. |

Procuring e-newsletter and magazine editorials written by Members of Congress and other elected officials specifically for Alliance Members. |

Discussing the Alliance Memberships’ view towards tax alleviation policies for the self-employed and small-business owners with legislative affairs staff and key policy makers. |

Thanks to the valuable input and support we have received from our members, the Alliance is building an effective and influential legislative advocacy program. It’s not just the Alliance doing this work, but the power of your voice and the force of the Alliance’s members. The Alliance helps amplify members’ voices thanks to the Alliance Action Team. The Action Team is open to every Alliance Member. Action Team participants receive e-mail updates and alerts when action is needed. The Alliance works directly with members of the Action Team when the voices of our members must be heard to make a difference.
